Plaque Design and Samples
Forty-four streetcar shelters will be constructed along the length of St Clair Avenue West. The interpretive plaques will be one of three elements in the 'feature bay'. To the right of the interpretive plaque will be space for community bulletin board and a TTC route map.
There are a number of environmental, historical and cultural themes that can be illustrated on these plaques.

As plaques are created, samples of them will be posted here. Take a look at the completed and incomplete plaques, and givse us your feedback.
Plaque design elements:
- Title Bar – specific to each streetcar stop location
- 512 Transit line – guide to St Clair streetcar stops, with each location highlighted, historic TTC red and yellow
- background watermark image – historic images of previous St Clair streetcar models
- Identifier Icon – specific to each streetcar stop and theme
- Content area – incsludes images and 150 words of easy-to-read text, according to streetcar stop themes
- Internet Address – dedicated to Interpretive Plaque project
- District Identifier bar – contains District name, sloped curve reflects escarpment, stripes resembles sidewalk banding
- overall sepia tones expresses history
