* The City of Toronto is conducting four yard consolidation studies on its yard systems across the City.

The aim of these studies is to make more efficient use of the City's land resources, while maintaining or improving yard facilities and operations.

The studies focus on identifying:

  • aging facilities in a poor state of repair
  • whether any of the yard properties are underutilized or overcrowded

As a pilot project, Etobicoke York District has been studied first. Toronto-East York District, North District and Scarborough District will be studied next.
