  • Notice: The wedding chambers at North York Civic Centre, Scarborough Civic Centre and York Civic Centre are closed and all existing permits are cancelled until further notice.

  • Couples can book an appointment to get a marriage licence by visiting  
  • The City of Toronto only issues the marriage licence, the City of Toronto does not perform weddings and/or issue marriage certificates.  
  • To find an officiant a couple can do an internet search for "wedding officiant Toronto". There are many available in the Toronto area.
  • Once they have found an officiant they can confirm that the officiant is registered by visiting the Service Ontario website. Here they have a list of Religious Marriage Officiants. Although all officiants have a religious or faith affiliation many provide basic marriage services which are non-denominational and not religious/faith based.

Please Note: Toronto Civic Wedding Chambers, Toronto City Hall, 3rd floor, East Tower, is a private business which leases space at City Hall, please visit their website.
