Park & Recreation Facility Planning & Construction a few projects are listed below, further  information is available on the City website.

Ongoing & upcoming construction projects:  

  • Armour Blvd (167 Armour Blvd)
    The existing building will be demolished for future parkland development. Demolition is to commence in summer of 2019 (weather permitting) and completion is anticipated in Fall of 2019.
  • Clouds Gardens
    Clouds Gardens will close November 2018 for construction and is estimated to reopen Fall 2022.
  • Craigleigh Gardens
    Main gate will be fenced off for renovations, pedestrians will be able to access the park along the west side of the gates and at the other end of the park (entranceway known as Milkmans Lane). Renovations to last 8 weeks to the week of October 14, 2019.
  • East York Curling Club
    PF&R will be carrying out a roofing project for the curling club, members lounge and offices. The anticipated construction schedule will commence late June 2019 until late Fall 2019.
  • Flemingdon CC
    The upgrades to this facility include; Repair existing doors, roof repairs. August to September 2019. 
  • Fundy Bay Park

    Park improvements will include: a new playground with rubber safety surface, skateboard park, seating area and paths. Construction begins July 2019 and is estimated to be completed by Fall 2019, weather permitting.   
  • Guild Park & Gardens
    EDC has a project underway which is converting a storage and office building into an arts centre which is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2020. Clark Centre for the Arts will be operated by Arts Services when it opens.
  • Hentrietta Park
    Improvement projects will begin Fall 2019 
  • High Park Grenadier Pond
    There will be structural repairs to the deck columns, new decking and rails. This will be a 7-9 week job beginning the week of September 18, 2019, weather permitting.
  • Humber Bay West Park Trail Safety Improvements
    Parks, Forestry & Recreation will be carrying out improvement works including; in pavement messaging, centre-line painting and improved intersection treatments, see map for closures.
    Phase 2 has begun, May 31, 2019.  The multi-use trail is now closed for the duration of construction (late Summer 2019). Site fence has been installed and detour signage is posted. An alternate access point into Humber Bay Shores Park has been established at the Marginal Blvd intersection during evenings and weekends only, see detour map/signs on the City of Toronto website.
  • Martin Goodman Trail
    Trail improvements will include; resurfacing the sidewalk and multi-use asphalt trail. Work will begin September 2019 and the estimated completion is November 2019 (weather permitting).
  • Moorevale Park Fieldhouse
    PF&R will be carrying out improvement works including interior renovations and accessibility upgrades to the clubhouse, washrooms and creation of permit program space. Work is anticipated to take place between April - October 2019. 
  • Norseman Heights Park
    Playground enhancements will begin Fall 2019 
  • North Linear Park
    Park improvements include extension of trail and landscaping. Construction is expected to start August 2019 and completed by November 2019.
  • Parkway Forest Park
    A new adult fitness area is being constructed.  This will commence September 23, 2019 (weather permitting) and to be completed by Fall 2019.

    Phase two
    will begin August 2019 to December 2019 (weather permitting)
  • Westgrove Park Artificial Ice Rink (AIR)
    Scope of work include: replacement of refrigeration equipment, replacement of concrete rink slab, replacement of perimeter fencing and sports lighting. Estimated completion of project is December 2019.
