The Community Stewardship Program involves teams of volunteers in on-going maintenance and monitoring activities at various naturalization sites throughout Toronto Parks.

Teams are guided by experienced team leaders and participants are involved in activities such as weeding invasive non-native plants, water planted vegetation, collecting litter, building habitat brush bundles, and monitoring specific conditions for the site. Monitoring activities may include the monitoring of water chemistry, benthic invertebrates, birds, pollinators and vegetation. Each team visits their site weekly from Spring until early Fall.

The Crothers Trail Stewardship Team is a new volunteer team and part of the Natural Environment Trails Program. The goal of this program is to improve the long-term sustainability of natural environment areas in the City. For more information on how to get involved, visit the City of Toronto website
