BabyTalkTO is a free* text messaging service for parents and caregivers with infants birth to 6 months in Toronto. Subscribers will get weekly texts from Toronto Public Health’s Speech-Language Pathologists and Public Health Nurses with info, tips and resources on communicating with your baby and supporting their early language development skills.

The City of Toronto’s Toronto Public Health BabyTalkTO text messaging service (the “Service”) allows users to receive text messages to help parents and caregivers with infants birth to 6 months support baby’s communication and early language development.

BabyTalkTO is a one-way text messaging service, meaning we do not monitor and respond to incoming messages. The City of Toronto accepts no liability for the security or privacy of personal information when using this Service.

This Service is not appropriate for users in crisis situations. If users are experiencing a medical emergency, they must call 911 immediately or visit their closest hospital emergency room. Users may call Telehealth ON at 1-866-797-0000 for non-emergency medical advice. For non-urgent assistance relating to your baby’s communication and early language development, contact a Public Health Nurse:

Cost

No purchase is required to receive text messages from TPH, however standard text messaging and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Any costs related with receiving a text message are the responsibility of the individual receiving it. Check with your mobile provider for details on receiving text messages.

Message Frequency

You will receive weekly messages for a maximum of 5 months. TPH will text you only when we deem it helpful and important.

Delivery of information and content to a mobile device may fail due to a variety of circumstances or conditions.  You understand and acknowledge mobile network services are outside of TPH’s control, and TPH is not responsible or liable for issues arising from them.

How to opt-in

Text the designated keyword (BabyTalkTO or BabyTalk) to 393939. You will receive a confirmation text.

How to opt-out

To unsubscribe, text STOP and the designated keyword (e.g. STOP BabyTalkTO or STOP BabyTalk) to 393939 to stop receiving messages from TPH. Following this opt-out request, you will receive one final text message confirming that you have elected to stop receiving text messages. No additional text messages will be sent thereafter under this campaign unless you re-activate your subscription.

After confirming Y or Yes to subscribe, please do not reply to future text messages from TPH (unless you would like to opt-out).
