Protecting, Maintaining and Expanding our Urban Forest

The City is investing in community-led tree planting and stewardship on private land to help reach our 40% tree canopy cover target. With the greatest potential for planting on private land, everyone’s participation is critical to achieving our tree canopy target.

There are many ways you can help, whether you are a homeowner looking to have a tree planted in your backyard, a community group looking for funding to plant trees in your neighbourhood, or just interested in learning more about trees.

The City is pleased to offer the following programs.
