Casa Loma Corporation was established by City Council in June 2011 (Item EX6.7) under the authority of Section 148 of the City of Toronto Act, 2006 and Ontario Regulation 609/06. Casa Loma Corporation is incorporated under the Business Corporations Act (Ontario), with the City of Toronto as its sole shareholder.
The Corporation was created to manage the day-to-day operations of Casa Loma and ensure operations were stabilized so a future direction for Casa Loma could be established effectively by the City.
After an extensive RFP process in 2013-2014 the Liberty Entertainment Group was selected over a number of firms to lease and operate the main house of this historic complex. The City of Toronto and the Casa Loma Corporation entered into a 20 year agreement with Liberty Entertainment to continue operations as an iconic heritage attraction and a special events venue.
In 2015 the Corporation will commence a second process to lease the land and buildings within the Casa Loma North Precinct for use(s) to be determined through an RFP process. Details about the process are available in the Events section of this site.
