The Property Standards Committee hears appeals to orders issued by City Property Standards Officers for violations of municipal by-law maintenance and occupancy standards for residential, multi-residential, and commercial properties. The Committee is organized into four hearing panels corresponding to the City’s four service districts.
Committee members may also be called upon to serve as Fence Viewers to arbitrate fence disputes between property owners.
