The Strategic & Corporate Policy Division provides independent and objective analysis and advice to the City Manager and Council on key corporate matters where the City Manager has a clearly defined interest. The Division is responsible for key functions in the City Manager’s Office including:

  • Intergovernmental relations with other municipalities and orders of government
  • Liaison and governance support for City Agencies and Corporations
  • Corporate policy development
  • Strategic planning for the City
  • Administrative and Council governance and organizational structures
  • Advancing key corporate initiatives and priorities
  • Corporate support for civic engagement

The Division is comprised of three integrated sections working on priorities for the City Manager – Corporate Initiatives, Corporate Intergovernmental & Agency Relations and Corporate Policy. Examples of this work include:
