The Global Green Finance Index (GGFI 6), published by Z/Yen Group, measures financial products or services that result in an improved environment and society.
The results of the report are based on statistics provided by third parties such as the World Bank, The Economist Intelligence Unit, the OECD, and the United Nations, as well as individual responses from financial professionals. The ranking includes two components that identify the depth of green finance, and the quality of green finance. In terms of depth and quality, Toronto ranks 21st and 30th respectively. Combining both depth and quality ratings, Toronto’s position sits at 27 out of 74 international cities.
