24-Hour Respite Sites Request for Proposals
The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to identify and select qualified proponents to operate 24-hour respite sites in 2018–2019. New sites will be opened on a staggered schedule through summer and fall 2018 across Toronto.
24-hour respite sites are designed to broaden the range of services available to those experiencing homelessness. They provide 24-hour essential supports (including meals, service referrals, and places to rest) in an environment that prioritizes ease of admission to safe facilities.
The preferred proponents will be responsible for adhering to all requirements to operate such sites, including operational expectations based on Shelter, Support and Housing Administration’s (SSHA) 24-Hour Respite Site Standards. The agency will be bound by a purchase of service agreement with the City of Toronto, which includes compliance with service standards developed by SSHA.

An information session was held on June 29 for all agencies intending to apply. Attendance was not required but was strongly encouraged.
