In January 2018, Toronto City Council approved the City’s participation in the provincial Development Charges (DC) Rebate program. The City welcomes this provincial program which supports the creation of mid-range market rental housing.

The DC Rebate program is an initiative under Ontario’s Fair Housing Plan to increase the supply of purpose-built market rental housing. Up to $125 million over five years is available to Ontario municipalities to deliver the program, starting with $25 million in 2018-19.

First round of applications for the DC Rebate program were received through the 2018 Open Door Program Call for Applications. Please watch this space for future proposal calls.
