Planning EarlyON Child & Family Centres
The City and its community partners are planning for EarlyON Child and Family Centres (CFCs) throughout Toronto. As of January 1st, 2018, the Province of Ontario will transfer planning and administration responsibility for four types of programs for children (newborn to 6) and their parents/caregivers to municipalities. These programs will be integrated and delivered under the common identity of EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
On October 24th, 2017, the Ministry of Education put out a news release announcing the new name and branding for the four programs being integrated as Child & Family Centres. These centres will now be called EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
In October 2017, Toronto City Council adopted the initial plan OEYCFCs in Toronto: Initial Plan, from Transfer to Transformation. The Initial Plan lays out the results of the research, consultation, and needs assessment carried out in 2017, as well as priorities for the years ahead.
