Employment Connections Job Fair is a built-in partnership through the Ministry of the Solicitor General and the City of Toronto with the support of the Youth Employment Partnerships (YEP) Network.

Throughout the year, Employment Connections will organize a series of hiring events and employment support sessions for all job seekers 18+ currently on probation or parole and job seekers experiencing conflict with the law or identify as residing in a neighbourhood that has been impacted by violence.

Virtual Job Fair

Thursday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This virtual job fair is an employment-focused event with six one-hour sessions that will include employer presentations outlining their company, roles and expectations followed by one-on-one sessions with job seekers connecting to discuss opportunities.

Job seekers are welcome to select one and/or up-to six sessions, however, they should be connected to a community employment support service. Job seekers who are not connected and would like more information on how to prepare for this event, please email Sonam.Dekyi@toronto.ca from the Toronto Youth Partnerships & Employment team and you will be contacted within two business days.

LiUNA 506

11 a.m. to noon

This session will focus on LiUNA 506 and its many opportunities for Construction Craft Worker (CCW) Apprentices. LiUNA 506 opportunities and a direct link for this session will be shared with participants that register for the session.

Noon to 1 p.m.

This session will focus on Rochester Aluminum Smelting Canada LTD. and its many opportunities that include: General Labor (Night & Day Shifts), Forklift Operators (Night & Day Shifts) as well as Bobcat Operators. Rochester Aluminum Smelting Canada LTD. opportunities and a direct link for this session will be shared with participants that register for the session.

1 to 2 p.m.

This session will focus on the College of Carpenters and Allied Trades and its multiple Carpenter’s Apprentice, Floor Layer’s Apprentice opportunities. 2 to 3 p.m.

This session will focus on the IFSTC – International Finishing Systems Training Centre and its multiple Drywall Apprentice Training opportunities and a direct link for this session will be shared with participants that register for the session.

3 to 4 p.m.

This session will focus on Tradelinx and their pre-apprenticeship training program for Ontario Works (OW) recipients who are interested in a career in the skilled trades/construction industry. This session is a great fit for job seekers that need additional preparation before applying to employers in this sector.
