Broadview TTC Track Reconstruction
Construction at the intersection of Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue was completed and reopened to all traffic on Sunday August 12 at 7 a.m.
The intersection will reopen to all local and through traffic, pedestrians and cyclists. Local Access Notices will no longer be needed, and signs and traffic controls will be removed.
Work finished early because of favourable weather and the condition of infrastructure located beneath the Broadview-Gerrard intersection. Due to this, crews were able to complete the track replacement and repair work within a shorter time-frame than previously planned.
Ongoing TTC work will be required until Saturday August 25. TTC will be working to restore power to the overhead wires. This work will take place after the intersection has reopened. Work will take place during day time hours and will occupy traffic lanes, however, traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times.
The TTC is planning to host an opening event – details to be determined. We will share the event plans when they have been completed!
TTC Buses and Streetcars:
- Current detours for the 504 King, 505 Dundas and 506 Carlton buses will resume their routes through the Gerrard-Broadview intersection.
- Streetcars will be tested overnight between Sunday August 26 to Wednesday August 29. The 504 King and the 506 Carlton streetcar are expected to resume September 2.
