Are you passionate about Toronto’s natural environment and want to share that passion with others? Volunteer as a Nature Ambassador! Ambassadors interpret and animate the natural features of the park and its surrounding parkland.

As a volunteer you will:

  • Educate park users on the history and ecology of this unique restoration site
  • Meet new people and improve your communication skills
  • Distribute environmental education materials
  • Encourage sustainable use of our sensitive natural areas
  • Attend parks tours to enrich your knowledge
  • Acquire documented volunteer hours (if requested)

Sessions are supervised by City staff. All materials are provided, and no experience is required.

Where and When

  • Don Valley Brick Works Park, which is a showpiece of the City’s efforts in environmental restoration
  • June through September
  • 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • second and fourth Saturdays of the month

Learn more about the Nature Ambassadors program and how to register for the 2024 season. If you are interested in volunteering but are unable to attend, register anyway. A link to a recording will be emailed to you after the orientation.

Cancellation Policy

An event will be cancelled if there is a 70 per cent or greater chance of thunderstorm or if other hazardous weather arises.
