COVID-19 Immunization Clinics

Please read the information on this page before booking an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

Toronto Public Health is offering mRNA COVID-19 XBB and Novavax XBB vaccines to: 

  • Individuals 6 months to 4 years of age who have not been vaccinated or need to complete their primary series.
  • Individuals 6 months to 4 years with a weakened immune system,
  • Individuals 12 years and older who are eligible for a vaccination in the Spring and want the Novavax XBB vaccine

 

If you are not in one of the above groups and eligible for a Spring COVID-19 vaccine, please visit a primary care provider or pharmacy. Find a pharmacy here

 

Spring COVID-19 XBB vaccine is available for:

Anyone 6 months and older who has not been vaccinated for COVID-19 and has not had a recent confirmed infection (past 3-6 months).

Anyone who is at high risk of getting very sick from a COVID-19 infection including: 

  • Adults 65 years of age and older
  • Adult residents of long-term care homes and other congregate living settings for seniors
  • Individuals six months of age and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised (due to an underlying condition or treatment)
  • Individuals 55 years and older who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Metis and their non-Indigenous household members who are 55 years and older 

 

The general population is not recommended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Spring 2024, unless specifically recommended by their health care provider. 

 

Spring COVID-19 vaccines are the XBB strain. mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer XBB or Moderna XBB) are available at select pharmacies and primary care providers. Find a pharmacy here.

How to get ready for your appointment:

  1. Bring your health card (if available).
  2. Review information about the COVID-19 vaccines.
  3. Before your appointment, make sure you eat a snack and wear a short sleeve shirt.
  4. Review the screening questionnaire.
  5. Stay home if you are feeling sick and get your vaccine at a later date when you are feeling better. 
  6. Once you arrive at the clinic, you will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses. 
  7. Bring a mask. Everyone is required to wear a mask, except for infants / toddlers under the age of two.
