Student Vaccines

Please read the information on this page before booking an appointment to be vaccinated. The link to book an appointment for school-based vaccines (SIP and/or ISPA) is at the bottom of this page.

Note:​

  • Clinics are for students who live or study in Toronto
  • Each person getting vaccinated needs their own appointment

 

School Immunization Program (SIP)

Vaccine

Who is Currently Eligible?

Hepatitis B Vaccine
(Two or three doses)

All grade 7 to 12 students*

Anyone born in 2005**

HPV or Human Papillomavirus Vaccine
(Two or three doses)

All grade 7 to 12 students*
Anyone born in 2004, 2005**
Females born in 2002 and 2003**
Males up to 26 years, who identify as having sex with men

Meningococcal vaccine
(One dose)
All grade 7 to 12 students*

   
​* Current students in grades 7 to 12 are eligible for all three vaccines regardless of their age. 

**If you are born in the year(s) listed and missed HPV or Hepatitis vaccine doses due to the pandemic, you have extra time to get vaccinated until August 31, 2024.

Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) Vaccines

Students in Junior Kindergarten through to grade 12 can receive vaccines against the following diseases required under the ISPA or have a valid exemption:

  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Diphtheria
  • Tetanus
  • Polio
  • Meningococcal
  • Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Varicella (chickenpox) – only applies to students born on or after 2010

How to Prepare for your Appointment:

  1. Bring student’s immunization records and health card (if available).
  2. If you received a letter from Toronto Public Health regarding the student's vaccination record please bring this letter to the appointment.
  3. Review information about the vaccines and the diseases they protect against
  4. ​Students less than 14 years must be accompanied by ONE parent/legal guardian in order to sign the consent form. Students 14 years and older can sign their own consent form.
  5. Ensure students eat a snack before their appointment and wear a short sleeve shirt.
  6. It is recommended students come to the clinic with just one parent/legal guardian.
  7. Please review the screening questionnaire. Stay home if you are feeling sick and get your vaccine at a later date when you are feeling better. Upon arrival at the clinic, everyone will be screening for symptoms of COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses. 
  8. Bring a mask. Everyone is required to wear a mask, except for infants / toddlers under the age of two.
