The Project

"Immersed" will explore the potential of narrative to break down stigma and strengthen social connections. Four youth artists from Regent Park and other inner-city communities will create experiences that reveal and celebrate the strength and creativity of often overlooked neighbourhoods. Interactive technology will allow visitors to embody the perspective of someone different from themselves. This project aims to promote new ways of thinking about how we interact with our neighbours, and to encourage deeper participation in community and civic life. Five additional projects will animate Artscape Daniels Launchpad throughout the night. These include: Fashion illustrations byKarn Goode in the hallway gallery; "Time's Progress," a mixed media tapestry by Samantha-Jane Ince; an interactive installation "Adaptable Atmosphere" by Jazmine Yerbury; a live mannequin showcase featuring designs by Zoba Martin; and conceptual fashion designed by Mau Schoettle.
