Help stop the spread of germs. You share the water with everyone in the pool.

Basic Guidelines

  • Feed your children at least one-hour before swimming.
  • Wash your body thoroughly with soap and water before swimming.
  • Take your kids to the bathroom before swimming and take them on frequent bathroom breaks.
  • Children who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers made for swimming pool use.
  • Change diapers in a bathroom and not at poolside.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet or after changing diapers.
  • Do not swallow the pool water. Try your best to avoid getting water in your mouth.
  • Do not spit in the pool.
  • Do not swim when you have diarrhea. This is especially important for children in diapers.
  • Do not wear shoes from outside onto the pool deck.
  • Do not bring strollers from outside onto the pool deck.

Pool Fouling

Swimming pool water sometimes becomes contaminated and we call this a pool fouling. When this happens, staff follow healthy pool standards:

  1. Everyone is called out of the water
  2. Staff removes contaminants from the water
  3. Staff adds chemicals to the pool

You might need to stay out of the water for 1 to 20 hours. Staff super-chlorinates and the pool is re-opened only when chemicals reach a safe level. For more information, visit
