The Inquiry's legal team is headed by Ronald D. Manes. Mr. Manes is working with Pat Moore, David Butt, and Daina I. Groskaufmanis.

Mr. Manes is a senior partner with Torkin Manes Cohen Arbus LLP and practices exclusively in trial and appellate advocacy in all areas of commercial litigation and tort litigation. He is a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada. He was called to the bar in 1974.

Mr. Moore is a partner of Rogers, Moore. His practice is centered around civil litigation, personal injury, insurance law and products liability. He has been active in professional organizations and in advocacy training over many years. He was called to the bar in 1974.

Mr. Butt is a trial and appellate lawyer with Torkin Manes Cohen Arbus LLP. Called to the Bar in 1989, he has been lead counsel more than two dozen times in the Supreme Court of Canada, and hundreds of times in the Court of Appeal for Ontario. As an Assistant Crown Attorney he conducted numerous lengthy and complex trials. He holds law degrees from Queen's University and Harvard Law School, and clerked for both the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada. A former Harvard teaching fellow, he remains actively involved in professional education across the country.

Ms Groskaufmanis was called to the bar in 1997. She is a lawyer with the firm of Torkin Manes Cohen Arbus LLB. Her wide-ranging practice includes civil litigation, tax litigation and appeals involving the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. She is a former law clerk to the Federal court of Canada.
