Water activities are an excellent way to relax, stay fit and keep healthy. Toronto Public Health inspects all  recreational water faciilties which includes swimming pools, spas (hot tubs), wading pools and splash pads that are open to the public.

Regulation 565, Public Pools under Ontario's Health Protection and Promotion Act regulates such recreational water facilities which sets out the minimum health and safety standards. Facility owners and operators are required to adhear to these standards which are enforced by Public Health Inspectors.

Toronto Public Health monitors beach water quality at the City's eleven designated public beaches from June to the Labour Day weekend. This is done in accordance with the Ontario Recreational Water Protocol (PDF).
