Examples of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and proper disposal options are available on https://www.toronto.ca/hhw .

The City of Toronto only accepts hazardous waste from residents/households, including from property managers and building staff from multi-residential buildings, NOT from industrial, commercial or institutional (IC&I) sources. IC&I establishments must contact a private waste company for disposal of hazardous waste.

There are limits on the amount of HHW that can be dropped off at Drop-Off Depots per day, which are indicated on https://www.toronto.ca/services-payments/recycling-organics-garbage/drop-off-depots/accepted-items/. These limits also apply to drop-off of HHW at Community Environment Days .

HHW Reuse Centres, where residents are able to take usable paint and some other HHW products set aside for reuse, are suspended until further notice.
