The City’s BusinessTO Support Centre provides one-on-one virtual assistance to help businesses, not-for-profits and creative/culture organizations complete government funding applications and access available support programs. Businesses are paired with an advisor to receive consultation and guidance with applications for applicable Ontario grants, the Government of Canada’s Work-Sharing Program, and more. Advisors also provide guidance about City programs for businesses and offer general business advice. Get started today by completing the registration form.
The Digital Main Street program offers tools, resources, connections to trusted digital vendors, online learning and a Digital Service Squad that provides one-on-one virtual assistance. Working with community partners, the program helps small businesses, not-for-profits and creative/culture organizations with everything from website design and social media to launching e-commerce platforms.
Digital Main Street was created by the City and the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) in 2016. It was expanded in 2020 as part of the Mayor’s Economic Support and Recovery Task Force’s short-term economic support and recovery plan for Toronto’s businesses.
ShopHERE powered by Google provides independent businesses and artists with a quick, easy and no-cost way to sell online. With the help of volunteer web developers, business students and corporate partners, the program provides businesses with one-on-one support to build and launch a Shopify online store.
The CaféTO program provides space for expanded outdoor dining areas to help eligible restaurants and bars that are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Restaurants and bars operating in Toronto must follow current public health guidelines as developed by Toronto Public Health and the Province of Ontario. All retail businesses are exempt from the City of Toronto Noise Bylaw to facilitate after-hour deliveries.
The City’s Noise Bylaw includes the ability to provide an exemption in response to extraordinary circumstances affecting the immediate health, safety or welfare of the community. This exemption will ensure retailers can receive deliveries 24 hours of a day, seven days a week to ensure essential goods remain in stock.
Set up to support Toronto’s restaurant community, ToGoToronto.com is a promoted online listing of Toronto restaurants that are open for safe takeout or delivery. Restaurants are invited to add their business to the listing.

The City’s Creative Co-Location Facilities Property Tax Subclass Designation provides property tax relief to live music venues to support Toronto’s live music industry and address the unprecedented challenges that are threatening live music venues across the city.
The City of Toronto’s Indigenous Arts and Culture Partnerships Fund supports partnerships and collaborations that created new opportunities for Indigenous-led arts and culture. Applications open on May 3 and the deadline to apply is September 30.
