Francophone Cultural Activities -

June 19, 1998 to June 21, 1998 - Mel Lastman Square

 The North York Community Council recommends that the special event being held by  Franco-Fete,1998, be declared a community festival event.

 The North York Community Council submits the following memorandum (May 4, 1998) from Jaye Robinson, Interim Lead, Special Events:

 AOn June 19th to 21st, 1998 inclusively, Franco-Fete will be hosting a festival highlighting francophone cultural activities on Mel Lastman Square. The Special Events Office has approved the event and is aware of the organization=s intentions of obtaining a Special Occasions Permit to sel beer on Mel Lastman Square.

 The Special Events Office has met with the organizing committee and is satisfied that the event will be produced in a professional manner and will be very successful. I respectfully submit this memorandum requesting your approval.@
