Installation of Speed Bumps in Public Laneways (Davenport)
The Toronto Community Council recommends the adoption of the following report (June 8, 1998) from the
Director, Infrastructure Planning and Transportation, City Works Services:
Purpose:
To report on requests for the installation of speed bumps in various public laneways.
Funding Sources, Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
This work is an element of an ongoing annual programme and the cost is accommodated in the 1998 Capital
Programme for Public Laneway improvements.
Recommendations:
(1)That the installation of a speed bump of the type and design noted herein and at the location shown in Table "A"
of this report be approved; and
(2)That the appropriate City Officials be requested to take whatever action is necessary to give effect to the
foregoing including the introduction in Council of any Bills that may be required.
Comments:
City Works Services has received a request regarding the feasibility of installing an additional speed bump in the
public lane between Goodwood and Ascot Avenues, west of Dufferin Street. The attached Table "A" and associated
drawing No. 421F-5180 detail this location, which meets the criteria for the installation of a speed bump.
