Toronto Food Policy Council Nominees

The Board of Health reports having taken the following action and notice of its action in this respect be forwarded to City Council for its information:

(1)appointed the following persons to the Toronto Food Policy Council for a term of office expiring November 30, 2000, and until their successors are appointed:

(a)from community food networks:

-Halima Aman, North East North York Work Group

-Adrienne Johnson, Scarborough Hunger Coalition

(b)from a social justice/social policy or housing network:

-Karen Wirsig, Community Social Planning Council of Toronto

(c)Kathryn Scharf to replace Debbie Field as a full voting member;

(d)Debbie Field as alternate to Kathryn Scharf; and

(2)appointed Victor Daniel and Kathryn Scharf as Community Co-chairs, and Councillor Pam McConnell as Councillor Co-Chair of the Toronto Food Policy Council

The Board of Health submits the following report (November 23, 1998) from the Coordinator, Toronto Food Policy Council:

The Toronto Food Policy Council recommends to the Toronto Board of Health:

1.That the following be appointed to the Toronto Food Policy Council until November 30, 2000, and until their successors are appointed:

From community food networks:Halima Aman, Better Beginnings Now North East North York Work Group

Adrianne Johnson, Scarborough Hunger Coalition

From a social justice/social policy Karen Wiraig, Community Social

or housing network:Planning Council of Toronto

2.That Kathryn Scharf be appointed a full member of the Toronto Food Policy Council, instead of an alternate member, and that Debbie Field be designated as her alternate, instead of a full member.

3.That Victor Daniel and Kathryn Scarf be appointed Community Co-chairs, and Pam McConnell be appointed Council Co-chair, of the Toronto Food Policy Council.
