All Way Stop Control -
Peckham Avenue and Greenwin Village Road -
North York Centre
The North York Community Council recommends the adoption of the following report (November 16, 1998) from
the Director, Transportation Services, District 3:
Purpose:
To install an all way stop control at the intersection of Peckham Avenue and Greenwin Village Road.
Source of funds:
All costs associated with the installation of an all way stop control are included within the 1998 operating budget.
Recommendation:
That Schedule XVIII of By-law No. 31001, of the former City of North York, be amended to require traffic to stop on all
approaches to the intersection of Peckham Avenue and Greenwin Village Road.
Council Reference/Background/History:
Currently, eastbound motorists on Greenwin Village Road are required to stop at Peckham Avenue. Peckham Avenue
traffic travels unrestricted between Cactus Avenue and Pleasant Avenue.
Comments and/or Discussion and/or Justification:
The Transportation Division of the Works and Emergency Services has reviewed a request from Councillor Norman
Gardner to install an all way stop control at the intersection of Peckham Avenue and Greenwin Village Road.
The results of an all way stop study concluded that the technical requirements for the installation of an all way stop
control have been satisfied.
Conclusions:
This division supports the installation of all way stop control at the intersection of Peckham Avenue and Greenwin
Village Road.
