School Bus Loading Zone -
Daystrom Drive -
North York Humber
The North York Community Council recommends the adoption of the following report (November 2, 1998) from
the Director, Transportation Services, District 3:
Purpose:
To install a school bus loading zone on Daystrom Drive, adjacent to the Daystrom Public School.
Source of funds:
All costs associated with the installation of the loading zone are included within the 1998 operating budget.
Recommendation:
That By-law No. 32759, of the former City of North York, be amended to install a school bus loading zone on the west
side of Daystrom Drive, from a point 42 metres south of Lindylou Road to a point 94 metres south of Lindylou Road.
Council Reference/Background/History:
Formerly, a school bus loading zone existed at this location, adjacent the Daystrom Public School. At the request of the
principal, the loading zone was removed.
Comments and/or Discussion and/or Justification:
The Toronto District School Board recently contacted staff of the Transportation Services Division of the Works and
Emergency Services Department requesting that with the changes in transportation requirements and, as school buses now
transport students to the school, the loading zone is required.
Conclusions:
This department would support the installation of the school bus loading zone on the west side of Daystrom Drive.
