Recommendation:
The East York Community Council on May 26 and 27, 1999 endorsed the interim policy
respecting the use of funds received by the City from cash-in-lieu of parkland dedication
requirements associated with development projects as outlined in the joint report (May
17, 1999) from the Commissioner of Economic Development, Culture and Tourism and
the Commissioner of Urban Planning and Development Services embodied in Clause No.
5 of Report No. 7 of the Urban Environment and Development Committee headed
"Further Report on Proposed Use of Funds Generated from Cash-in-lieu of Parkland
Dedication".
Background:
The East York Community Council had before it a communication (May 18, 1999) from the
CityClerk, forwarding Clause No. 5 of Report No. 7 of The Urban Environment and
Development Committee, headed "Further Report on Proposed Use of Funds Generated from
Cash-in-lieu of Parkland Dedication" which was struck out by City Council at its meeting on
May11and12, 1999, and referred back to the Planning and Transportation Committee for
further consideration; advising that Council also directed, among other things, that a copy of
the Clause be forwarded to the Community Councils with a request that they submit their
comments thereon to the Planning and Transportation Committee for consideration at its
meeting on June 14, 1999.
