Panel Decision

The Corporations Nominating Panel recommends that:

 

1. City Council appoint Michael Nobrega to the Toronto Hydro Board, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on December 10, 2017, and until a successor is appointed.

 

2. City Council direct that the confidential information contained in Confidential Attachments 1, 2, and 3 remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Toronto Hydro Board.

Candidate's biography:

 

Michael Nobrega

 

Michael Nobrega holds an Honours BA from the University of Toronto, and a chartered accountancy designation. In 2012, he was appointed Chair of the Ontario Centres of Excellence Board of Directors, an organization that drives the development of Ontario’s economy by helping create new jobs, products, services, technologies, and businesses. Previously, Michael served as President and CEO of OMERS, and as President and CEO of Borealis Infrastructure. He was awarded the Arbor Award from the University of Toronto for his outstanding community service, including his work on many boards.
