The Corporations Nominating Panel recommends that:

 

1. City Council appoint the following candidates to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. Board, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office commencing July 1, 2016 and ending July 1, 2018, and until successors are appointed:

 

Brenda Patterson

Laurel Walzak

 

2. City Council direct that the confidential information contained in Confidential Attachments 1, 2, 3 and 4  to the report (May 11, 2016) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. Board.

Brenda Patterson

 

Brenda Patterson joined the former Regional Municipality of Metro Toronto in 1986. Prior to joining the City she worked in a series of progressive positions with Family Day Care Services. In 2004 Brenda was appointed General Manager, Children's Services at the City of Toronto and in 2008 became the General Manager of Parks, Foresty and Recreation. In 2011 she was appointed Deputy City Manager and retired from the City in 2014. Brenda has a passion for equity and making life better for those in need, service excellence and fiscal prudence.

 

Laurel Walzak

 

Laurel has close to 20 years of operations, brand marketing, digital media and sales experience with a consistent record of achievement in revenue development to the sport, fitness and the consumer packaged goods industries. Laurel’s recognitions include being nominated for the 2011 Ontario Premiers’ Awards (Hon. Dalton McGuinty) for Outstanding Graduates in Business and has been appointed to the George Brown College Board of Governors, Fall 2014 by the Ontario Public Appointments Secretariat.
