Panel Decision

The Facilities and Finance Nominating Panel recommends that:

 

1. City Council appoint the following two candidates to the Yonge-Dundas Square Board of Management, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on July 6, 2021, and until successors are appointed:

 

Nick Kadysh

Andreas Kalogiannides

 

2. The Facilities and Finance Nominating Panel direct that Confidential Attachments 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 to the report (June 15, 2017) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Yonge-Dundas Square Board of Management.

Nick Kadysh

 

Nick Kadysh is the Public Policy Leader at GE Canada, and previously worked at Red Bull Canada in progressively senior roles, including as Director of Public Affairs. He has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Queen's University. Having immigrated to Canada from Russia shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Nick strongly believes that public service is the foundation for a healthy community. His board experience includes one term on the Yonge-Dundas Square Board from 2011 - 2015.

 

Andreas Kalogiannides

 

Andreas Kalogiannides, a Toronto native, is a business, intellectual property, and entertainment lawyer. In addition to his practice, Andreas is Executive Director of Toronto Music City, a non-profit building healthy music ecosystems and sustainable creative communities through developing affordable housing for musicians. He is a member of the Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council (acting as Co-Chair from 2015-2017). Andreas holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy and Law, Double Major) from York University, an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Arts (International Affairs) from Carleton University.
