Yesterday, the City of Toronto marked a major milestone in the ongoing effort to vaccinate residents. More than one million vaccine doses have now been administered at City of Toronto-operated immunization clinics and mobile clinics.

This is part the City’s continuing work with its healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 3,795,029 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto as part of the broader Team Toronto initiative.

Approximately 16,000 appointments are still available for City of Toronto immunization clinics this week, and everyone age 12 years or older is encouraged to book their vaccination appointment as soon as possible. Second dose appointments can be booked by anyone, including youth age 12 to 17, who received a first Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least 28 days ago or a first AstraZeneca vaccine at least eight weeks ago. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button at the City’s COVID-19 webpage or call the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.

As of yesterday and continuing through Sunday, the City of Toronto is offering walk-in vaccinations at the Toronto Congress Centre immunization clinic. Approximately 2,000 appointments will be available for walk-in clients each day at this clinic, between noon and 7 p.m. Walk-in vaccinations are open to anyone age 18 or older to receive a first or second dose mRNA vaccine.

Vaccinations at other City-run clinics are by appointment only and walk-in clients cannot be accommodated. Anyone who cannot attend a scheduled appointment is urged to cancel or reschedule as soon as possible to allow others to book. Appointments at City-run clinics can be cancelled or changed at the provincial Vaccine Appointment Booking webpage or by calling the provincial booking line.

The Team Toronto effort is focused on getting as many residents vaccinated as quickly as possible based on available supply. It is also expanding mobile vaccination efforts across Toronto to bring vaccines to the neighbourhoods most in need.

Today, a Team Toronto Mobile Sprint Strategy partner will vaccinate 2,500 eligible people at the following pop-up clinic:

  • University of Toronto Scarborough Campus – People who live in M1 postal codes

The City and healthcare partners are working to operate a total of approximately 33 clinics today, including mobile teams, on-site and pop-up clinics, to vaccinate priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework.

  • Today, will vaccinate up to 12,577 eligible residents across nine City-operated immunization clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, Malvern Community Recreation Centre, Mitchell Field Arena, The Hangar, Cloverdale Mall, North Toronto Memorial Community Centre and Carmine Stefano Community Centre.

  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics, one mobile clinic and four pop-up clinics.
