Team Toronto COVID-19 vaccination update

The City of Toronto is working with its healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 1,489,583 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.

The Team Toronto effort is focused on getting as many residents vaccinated as quickly as possible based on available supply. It is also expanding mobile vaccination efforts across Toronto to bring vaccine to the neighbourhoods most in need.

As of 8 a.m. today, new groups will be eligible to book appointments through the provincial booking system for vaccination appointments at City-operated immunization clinics:

Today, as part of the community-lead Team Toronto Mobile Strategy, Toronto health sector partners, community health clinics and community agencies have partnered to vaccinate 6,880 people age 18 years and older at the following pop-up clinics:

• Chalkfarm (M9L, M9M, M3N, M3M, M3J, M3K)
• General Mercer PS (M6A, M6M, M6N, M9N)
• Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre (M5A, M4X)

As of yesterday evening, approximately 642,492 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-run clinic. Appointments at City-operated immunization clinics are available through the Province’s online booking system. The City and healthcare partners are working to operate a total of approximately 38 clinics today, including mobile teams and on-site clinics, to vaccinate priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework. These clinics are only vaccinating those in the priority groups who have confirmed appointments.

City of Toronto immunization clinics

• Today, will hold nine City-operated immunization clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, Malvern Community Recreation Centre, Mitchell Field Arena, The Hangar, Cloverdale Mall, North Toronto Memorial Community Centre and Carmine Stefano Community Centre.
• Will vaccinate approximately 12,607 people born in 1971 or earlier and people age 18 or older who live in hot spot neighbourhoods as identified by postal code. People without appointments should not attend a City-run immunization clinic.

Unity Health Toronto, Downtown East Toronto OHT and West Toronto OHT

• Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and four pop-up clinics.
• Vaccinated 2,925 people who are age 18 and older living in hot spot neighbourhoods, priority hospital and community-based healthcare workers, select inpatients, homebound adults, individuals living in congregate settings, members of the Indigenous community, shelter staff, transplant recipients and those receiving active cancer treatment and individuals with specific high-risk health conditions.
• Today, will hold two on-site clinics, two mobile clinics, and three pop-up clinics.
• Will vaccinate 3,668 people belonging to the same groups.

Michael Garron Hospital – East Toronto Health Partners

• Yesterday, held one mobile clinic.
• Vaccinated 33 people living in high risk congregate settings.
• Today, will hold one primary care clinic and one pop-up clinic.
• Will vaccinate 2,702 people who are age 18 years and older living in hot spot neighbourhoods, adults age 50 and older, individuals with highest and high-risk conditions, individuals living in risk congregate settings, individuals living in shelters or experiencing homelessness, individuals that receive home care, health care workers and medical first responders, Indigenous adults, select education and child care workers, and people who cannot work from home.

• Vaccinated 1,760 people who are age 18 years and older living in hot spot neighbourhoods.
• Today, will hold two mobile clinics.

• Vaccinated 6,820 people who are age 18 years and older living in hot spot neighbourhoods.

• Will vaccinate approximately 10,570 people who are age 18 years and older living in hot spot neighbourhoods, people living in shelters, and individuals living in congregate settings.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and an off-site community clinic in partnership with Baycrest.
• Vaccinated 1,300 people who are residents age 50 years and older, Indigenous adults, adults who receive home care, healthcare workers, hospital staff, people with highest and high-risk conditions and their caregivers, people who live or work in high-risk congregate settings, pregnant people, people age 18 years and older living in hot spot neighbourhoods, and people who cannot work from home.
• Today, will hold one on-site clinic and an off-site clinic in partnership with Baycrest.
• Will vaccinate approximately 1,400 people belonging to the same groups.

• Yesterday, held one pop-up clinic.
• Vaccinated 1,506 people who are age 40 years and older, and 18 years and older living in hot spot neighbourhoods.
• Today, will hold one pop-up clinic and one mobile clinic.
• Will vaccinate 2,000 people belonging to the same groups.

Participating pharmacies in Toronto

• Toronto Public Health can confirm that as of yesterday morning, 222,115 people aged 18 and older received their COVID-19 vaccine at participating pharmacies in Toronto since the provincial pilot began.
• An update on the number of vaccinations in Toronto pharmacies will be provided on Tuesdays and Fridays as information is made available twice a week.

The City, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community. As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Province, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people following the priority framework established by the Province.
