The first round of aerial spraying for European Gypsy Moth in a portion of Etobicoke (Ward 2) was completed on Thursday, May 28. A second round will take place within a few days between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. The second spray date will be determined by weather conditions.

The City of Toronto will be conducting an aerial spray program using a pesticide called Foray 48B Biological Insecticide Aqueous Suspension for the control of European Gypsy Moth this spring

Proposed spray window for application: May 24 to June 16, 2020

(Specific spray dates are weather dependent and will be selected 48 hours in advance and posted on our website as well as broadcast through the City’s Facebook and Twitter channels)

Method of application: Aerial spray via helicopter

Pest being controlled:  European Gypsy Moth

Pesticide being applied:  Foray 48B Biological Insecticide Aqueous Suspension

This is a registered pesticide under the Pest Control Products Act (PCP# 24977) – Class 11
