Committee Recommendations

The Civic Appointments Committee recommends that:

 

1.         City Council appoint the three individuals listed in Confidential Attachment 1 to the Heritage Toronto Board of Directors for a term commencing, upon approval, for the balance of the current term of Council, November 30, 2010 and until a successor is appointed.

 

2.         The City Clerk to make the appointees’ names public once appointed by Council and the appointees have been notified.

Summary

On April 23, 24, 2007, Council appointed the Board of Directors to Heritage Toronto for the current term of Council to 2010.  Two Board members have resigned mid-term due to relocation from the City of Toronto. As required in the Civic Appointments Policy, Heritage Toronto has established a Nomination Panel to review applications, to select candidates to be interviewed and to recommend candidates to Council for approval. A listing for the positions was posted on the City of Toronto website, on the Heritage Toronto website, and with the Maytree Foundation DiverseCity on Board service.

 

In addition, the former Toronto Historical Association (THA) representative on the Board stepped down when he became Past President.  This has resulted in 3 vacancies on the Board.

Committee Recommendations

The Civic Appointments Committee recommends that:

 

1.                City Council appoint the selected individuals listed in Confidential Attachment 1 to the Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo for a term commencing, upon approval, for the current term of Council, ending November 30, 2010 and until a successor is appointed.

 

2.                The City Clerk to make the appointees’ names public once appointed by Council and the appointees have been notified.

2.         The City Clerk make the appointee’s name public once appointed by Council and the appointee has been notified.
