Award of Tender Call No. 68-2010
Origin
(June 30, 2010) Report from the Director, Purchasing and Materials Management
Recommendations

The Director, Purchasing and Materials Management recommends that:

1.         Bid Committee rescind its June 9, 2010 decision to award Tender Call No. 68-2010.

2.         Bid Committee grant authority to award Tender Call No. 68-2010, for the supply of all labour, equipment, material and supervision necessary to construct an addition to the Scarborough Village Community Centre, to Rankine Construction Ltd., in accordance with the revised Contract Details set out in the Appendix 1 to this report.

Summary

The purpose of this report is to request the Bid Committee to rescind the award of Tender Call No. 68-2010 submitted on June 3, 2010 and approved by the Bid Committee at its meeting of June 9, 2010 in the amount of $1,127,513.00 net of all applicable taxes and charges.  This new report is seeking to increase the contract by $54,000.00 bringing the new recommended award to $1,181,513.00 net of all applicable taxes and charges to the same vendor, Rankine Construction Ltd, being the lowest bidder meeting specifications for the supply of all labour, equipment, material and supervision necessary to construct an addition to the Scarborough Village Community Centre.

This error was due the contingency amount being understated by $54,000.00 in the original composite report. This report is now being submitted to correct the error.
