Through Investing in Neighbourhoods (IIN), the city helps non-profit organizations connect with qualified candidates who receive Ontario Works benefits.
If your non-profit organization is looking to create a job opportunity that will strengthen and contribute to your community, you could qualify for financial incentives.
To participate your organization must:
- be a non-profit organization
- be located in Toronto, and
- create a supervised position that does not displace existing staff or reduce their work hours.
Through IIN, if you hire someone who is receiving Ontario Works benefits, we will pay 100% of the employee’s salary for up to one year, provide Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) / Accident Insurance Coverage and offer Human resources follow-up support.
Thank you for your interest in the Investing in Neighourhoods program. At this time, we are not accepting new organization applications due to a program review. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To get more information, call 416-397-JOBS (5627) or email us. If your organization does not meet the Investing in Neighbourhoods criteria, there may be other incentives you can access.
The Partnership to Advance Youth Employment (PAYE) is a joint initiative between private-sector employers, the City of Toronto and a network of community-based agencies to help Toronto youth find and maintain employment.
PAYE connects hundreds of employers with diverse and talented youth job seekers 18-29 years old. Through PAYE, employers can develop customized plans that address their immediate and long-term workforce needs. They also get access to recruitment events and job fairs.
Each year, PAYE provides one-on-one support and coaching to more than 1,000 youth job seekers, helping them obtain in-demand technical and soft skills and secure first-work and career track employment opportunities. PAYE does this by referring youth to training and education, networking and mentoring opportunities, and jobs with career potential.
See current job opportunities for youth in the PAYE Employment Opportunities System.
