From farmers’ markets to neighbourhood bazaars, flea and vintage markets, public markets are central to communities. Toronto boasts more than 160 community-based public markets which support more than 3,000 urban and rural entrepreneurs. This ecosystem includes established and iconic spots like St. Lawrence Market, Kensington Market and the Ontario Food Terminal, as well as the regional wholesale market and non-profit organizations like FoodShare Toronto, which supports markets bringing affordable fresh food to underserved communities.

Toronto’s public markets serve as vibrant neighbourhood hubs where people can gather, shop, work and enjoy the city’s cultural diversity.
