NEWSToronto City Council Approves 2011 Budget ProcessOn December 8, 2010 Toronto City Council appointed the members of the Budget Committee. The Members of the Budget Committee are Councillors Michelle Berardinetti, Mike Del Grande, Frank Di Giorgio, Doug Ford, Chin Lee, Peter Milczyn and John Parker. The Budget Committee's mandate includes co-ordinating the preparation of the capital and operating budget estimates while the annual capital and operating budgets are being developed, making recommendations on the capital and operating budgets, and reviewing other matters that may have a significant impact on a future budget, upon request from the Executive Committee. Councillor Del Grande, Ward 39, Scarborough-Agincourt was elected Chair of the Budget Committee and Councillor Doug Ford, Ward 2 Etobicoke-North was elected Vice-Chair. 
The Budget Committee met and voted on December 17, 2010 to create two sub-committees of the Budget Committee. The Budget Sub-Committee for Scarborough and North York Consultation will be Chaired by Councillor Ford and include Councillors Di Giorgio, Milczyn and Parker. The Budget Sub-Committee for Etobicoke York and Toronto & East York Consultation will be chaired by Councillor Del Grande and includes Councillors Berardinetti, Di Giorgio and Lee. These Budget Sub-Committees will consult with the public on budget related matters for the 2011 Budget process. The Budget Sub-Committee for Etobicoke York Consultation and the Budget Sub-Committee for Toronto & East York Consultation will hold their first meetings on January 19, 2011 at 6pm. On December 17,2010 Toronto City Council approved the 2011 Budget Process and Schedule which is designed to develop, review and adopt the 2011 Operating and Capital Budgets by February 28, 201.
