Payment of defaulted fines
Effective March 1, 2005 uncertified cheques will no longer be accepted for payment of defaulted POA fines. A defaulted fine is a fine that has not been paid by its due date as indicated in the Notice of Fine and Due Date. Credit cards (VISA, MasterCard or American Express), debit cards, cash, certified cheques and money orders will be accepted.
Payments for defaulted fines can be made in person at one of the City of Toronto's three Provincial Offences Court offices listed here.

Victim fine surcharge and Court Costs must be paid
If you receive a fine, as a result of your court appearance, payment is required within the time period indicated by the Justice of the Peace.
Notices are sent by mail, but in the event that the notice is not received, it is your responsibility to pay the fine within the specified time period.
In addition to the fine specified by the Court, a victim fine surcharge, and court costs as required by the Provincial Offences Act, must be paid. The victim fine surcharge is in addition to the fine and goes into the Province's Victims' Justice Fund account. Please see the chart, below, to determine the total amount owing. You are required to pay the total amount of the fine, plus the victim fine surcharge, plus a $5.00 service cost and any other costs stated by the court.
Failure to pay the fine, plus the victim fine surcharge and costswithin the period of time specified by the Court, may result in your driver's licence being suspended and/or collection agency enforcement. Again, do not wait to receive the notice in the mail.
