Update
|
Larviciding of public standing water areas and the treatment of storm water catch basins have been completed. Toronto has reported 76 positive mosquito batches for the 2011 WNV season.
Toronto has 28 human cases of illness reported so far this year, due to the virus.
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is reporting 71 human cases in Ontario.
In 2010 there was one confirmed WNV human case and 19 positive mosquito batches that tested positive.
