Subject:Proposed Renovations to Playgrounds at St. John Bosco Elementary School; and
St. Nicholas of Bari Elementary School - Ward 28, York-Eglinton
Recommendation:
The York Community Council on May 6, 1998, recommended to the Budget Committee that funds be included in the 1999
Capital Budget, for a partnership funding arrangement with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, with respect to
proposed renovations of the playgrounds at St. John Bosco and St. Nicholas of Bari Elementary Schools, and that a funding
formula be determined at a later date.
The York Community Council reports, for the information of the Budget Committee, having:
(1)supported in principle, the proposed renovations to the playground facilities at St. John Bosco Elementary School and
St. Nicholas of Bari Elementary School; and
(2)requested the Commissioner of Community and Neighbourhood Services to direct the York Commissioner of
Community Services, to initiate discussions with officials of the Toronto Catholic District School Board on these projects,
and to report back to the Community Council.
Background:
The York Community Council had before it the following communications:
-(April 22, 1998) from Councillor Joe Mihevc to the Community Council; and
-(April 6, 1998) from Councillor Rob Davis to Mr. Peter Demelo, Parent Council, St. Nicholas of Bari Elementary
School.
