		March 17, 1998 To: Metropolitan Cycling and Pedestrian Committee From: Phil Piltch, Chair, Security, Safety and Education Sub-committee Subject: Education Programs for Cyclists and Motorists Recommendation: It is recommended that: (1) the matter of education programs for cyclists and motorists, targeting certain key groups such as trucks and other large vehicles, be referred to the Security, Safety and Education Sub-committee for investigation and report back to the Metropolitan Cycling and Pedestrian Committee; and (2) the appropriate City staff be invited to attend the next meeting of the Sub-Committee in order to determine the scope, content and implementation of such education programs, including CANBIKE, SPACE, public awareness and informational pamphlets.
