METROPOLITAN CYCLING AND PEDESTRIAN COMMITTEE,
TORONTO CITY CYCLING COMMITTEE AND THE
NORTH YORK CYCLING AND PEDESTRIAN COMMITTEE:
The Metropolitan Cycling and Pedestrian Committee, the Toronto City Cycling Committee and the North York Cycling
and Pedestrian Committee at a joint meeting on April 21, 1998, during consideration of a report (April 4, 1998) from Mr.
Jack Becker, Co-Chair, Joint Network Planning Sub-Committee and the Bicycle Planning Sub-Committee, embodying
various recommendations respecting the development of a city-wide network of bicycle trails on operational and abandoned
hydro and railway corridors as part of a more comprehensive network of cycling facilities, referred the following motion to
the joint meeting of the Committees scheduled to be held on May 25, 1998:
"That a work group be established to:
(a)monitor the progress and contents of the Official Plan related to cycling issues;
(b)consider how pedestrian matters can be addressed in the Official Plan; and
report thereon to the Committees."
