 Submitting, as requested by the Committees on March 25, 1998, a report on the possible hazards that the new surface of the Cherry Street Bridge over the Keating Channel may present to cyclists using the roadway; and recommending that this report be received for information.

  3.SUGGESTED RESPONSE TO THE SPECIAL INVESTIGATION UNIT,

TORONTO POLICE SERVICE, REGARDING THE DEATH OF

MR. CLYDE BARNABY.

 Respecting the recent death of Mr. Clyde Barnaby as a result of a high-speed police chase through a residential area of the City; and recommending that the Committees authorize her, in consultation with interested Members of the Committees who make themselves available, to forward a communication on behalf of the Committees to the Special Investigation Unit, Toronto Police Service, concerning this incident.

 4.BIKE TRAIL OPPORTUNITY - LAKE SHORE BOULEVARD/GARDINER

EXPRESSWAY CORRIDOR FROM THE GREENWOOD DEVELOPMENT

TO DOWNTOWN.

 Respecting a review of the bike trail opportunity - Lake Shore Boulevard/Gardiner Expressway Corridor from the Greenwood Development; and providing comments and background on the following issues:

 (i)Lake Shore Boulevard and Cherry Street Intersection;

 (ii)Enhanced Safety for Cyclists, In-line Skaters and Pedestrians on the Cherry Street Bridge (see Agenda Item No.2);

 (iii)Don River Bridge Status;

 (iv)Greenwood Development;

 (v)Leslie Street to Coxwell Avenue and to Queen Street;

 (vi)Proposed Bike Trail Design Adjacent to Lake Shore Boulevard from Leslie Street to the Don River; and

  5.HYDRO/RAIL CORRIDOR BIKE TRAIL PROJECT.

 An information update on the Hydro/Rail Corridor Bike Trail Project will be provided by Mr. Randy McLean and Mr. Daniel Egan, Toronto Planning.
