Subject:New Fire Station No. 2, North York District

Contract No. FA30-98001

Ward 9 - Centre South

Purpose:

The purpose of this report is to advise the results of the tender issued for the construction of a new Fire Station No. 2 at 476 Lawrence Avenue West in the District of North York in accordance with the specifications as required by the Works & Emergency Services Department and request authority to issue a contract to the recommended bidder.

Source of Funds:

Funds were allocated in the capital budget for this project.

Recommendations:

It is recommended that:

1.The Contract No. FA-30-98001 for the construction of a new Fire Station No. 2 be awarded to Pegah Developments Ltd. in the total amount of $1,149,180 including all taxes and being the lowest tender received; and

2.This report be forwarded to the next meeting of Council for information.

The Bid Committee at its meeting held on July 29, 1998, opened tenders for Contract No. FA 30-98001 for construction of new Fire Station No. 2 in the District of North York, as summarized below:

Comments/and/or Discussion and/or Justification:

The tender documentation submitted by the recommended bidder has been reviewed by Fire Services and Facilities staff and was found to be in conformance with the tender requirements.

Conclusion:

This report requests authority to issue a contract for the construction of a new Fire Station No. 2 at 476 Lawrence Avenue West in accordance with the specifications to Pegah Developments Ltd. at the tender price quoted being the lowest tender received that meets the specifications.
