WARD 1
Purpose:
To report to the April 1, 1998 East York Community Council with a chronology of events for the redevelopment
applications of Cohen & Alter Inc. on behalf of the Board of Governors of Centennial College at 870 Pape Avenue. This is
to be considered with the Cohen & Alter Inc. deputation to the Community Council, requesting a fee and deposit refund.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that East York Community Council receive this report for information.
Background:
The chronology of the development agreement is outlined in Appendix 1 attached. All fees have been taken, as required in
accordance with our existing fees by-laws. Council may, at their discretion, refund all or part of these fees.
This is not the only applicant who has advised us of their intent to make a fee refund request.
As you may know, the March 23-24, 1998 Urban Environment and Development Committee had before it staff reports
recommending new fee structures for Planning and Building applications. This report has been prepared in advance of the
Urban and Economic Development Committee meeting.

geotechnical testing was $27,510.00 plus GST.
November 26, 1997Notice from the Ontario Municipal Board that the appeals by Valerie Sonstegard and Kate Kent
have been withdrawn.
December 4, 1997Letter from John Thomas to Gordon Patterson, G.M Sernas & Assoc. Ltd. Consulting Engineers &
Planners requesting $30,000.00 to cover the estimated cost of reviewing the design drawings, to provide construction
